Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before submitting an application or booking lessons with The Artists Lab.
Student Commitment & Admission Standard
The Artists Lab welcomes applications from resilient, hardworking and committed individuals who are serious about developing their skills and pursuing their goals in the performing arts. Training requires consistent preparation, independent practice and openness to constructive feedback. Every application is assessed individually, and submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
1. Enrolment & Assessment Policy
Every application submitted to The Artists Lab is assessed individually by our founders and artistic team. Submitting an application, booking request, or deposit does not guarantee acceptance into private mentorship or masterclasses. If an application cannot be accepted, any associated fees paid will be promptly refunded.
2. Student Commitment & Performance Standards
Consistent training is central to our approach. Students are expected to arrive punctually, engage diligently with assigned material, and conduct independent daily practice between sessions. Progress in technique and artistry requires active engagement and responsiveness to professional critique.
3. Lesson Frequency & Scheduling
We generally offer weekly or fortnightly lessons to ensure steady technical development and acoustic/physical conditioning. Casual lessons are subject to strict approval and faculty availability. Lessons are arranged directly with your mentor for studio times in Sydney or via our high-fidelity online virtual studio.
4. Attendance, Rescheduling & 24-Hour Notice
Due to our faculty’s active professional performing and directing commitments, cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will forfeit the lesson fee. Rescheduling requests provided with greater than 24 hours notice will be accommodated subject to mutual faculty availability within the teaching term.
5. Vocal Health & Duty of Care
The Artists Lab adheres to evidence-based vocal health first aid principles. We prioritize sustainable vocal production and vocal longevity. If signs of severe vocal strain or potential pathology are observed, faculty may pause intensive phonation and recommend an independent laryngological assessment.
6. Code of Conduct & Safe Environment
The Artists Lab maintains an inclusive, safe, and respectful creative environment. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour toward faculty or fellow artists will result in immediate termination of enrolment without refund.
